Frequently Asked Questions
Do you do weddings or private parties?
Yes. All the time. We’re based in North London but travel a 100 miles radius to cover London surrounding counties.
We’ve played in luxury spa hotels, church halls, converted stables and people’s back gardens.
How much is it to hire your band?
Packages start at £1,500, for a 5 piece band with a PA and lights. For larger venues a larger PA may be needed. For weddings this is typically organised by your wedding planner. But if you are not sure just contact use with some more details and we’ll help with an answer.
SoulFools can perform as a 7 piece which includes larger horn section. Typically hire costs for a 7 piece start at £2,100.
Do you do requests?
Yes, All the time. As long as your requests are from the style of music we perform we’d be happy to include in our performance. And if you’re musically inclined and want to join SoulFools on stage we can organise that too.
Can we see you perform first?
Please do, we’d love to see you at our gigs! See our Live gigs pages.
Do we have to pay in advance and what are your cancellation terms?
We ask for a 25% deposit once the gig is agreed. This is fully refundable up to 4 weeks before the event. The balance is due a week before the performance. We know bad things happen and we will consider a 100% refund if the gig is cancelled at short notice. Or we will invite you to re-book at a later date if that is an option.
Are the musicians on your web site the musicians who will perform at my event?
Newton Brown is a lead singer and front man for SoulFools. He will ALWAYS appear in the performance. All the other musicians perform regularly with SoulFools and each is doubled up with another player. ie, two guitarist, two bass player etc.
The line up of the band will depend on who is available for your date.
Do you have a disco?
We play live music. If needed to can play background music through our PA, but this isn’t a disco. If you need a disco it’s better to discuss with your wedding or party planner.
Do you need a stage?
No. Most of our private party gigs and on the floor. We prefer this as it helps us engage with your audience. Newton Brown is a great dancer! Your audience will love him - what ever their age. We also provide lights to help the performance look more special.
Is there anything you need to be able to perform?
Our rider is very simple. We need somewhere to park and a lockable room where we can store our possessions and to get changed.
We also ask for food and soft drinks to be provided. Often the venue or wedding planners will organise this for you.
We will also need some time - around 45 mins to set up our equipment and sound check. Typically we will do this well in advance of your guests arriving. Which is also why we need a room to stay in before it’s time of us to perform.
